Description

New for 2012, the BR Duchess of Athol in British Rail 1950’s dark blue livery. This is a re-run of the Duchess engines that came out in 2005. It has 4 cylinders (11mm bore x 20mm stroke), C-type boiler, hydrostatic lubrication, and axle and tender water pumps. This engine is a superb runner, see video below of the SVRR engine which can pull 11 cars with ease for 40 minutes run time. Only 100 will be made. Available in kit or ready-to-run.

S2

The new S2 is now available from stock in both the Green livery (shown) or black. The engine specs include C type boiler, superheater, 2 cylinders (15mm bore x 23mm stroke), working draincocks, axle and tender water pumps, whistle, electric headlight, water tank drain. Choose from either the kit or the ready to run version.

The Allegheny must surely be the king of the Aster locomotives. Southern Railways 'Battle of Britain" class Pacific loco. Also known as the 'Spam Can', due to its air smoothed casing, the loco was a very popular and widely used engine in Southern England in the post war period. The Aster model has the correct 3 cylinder arrangement. Available in Southern (shown) and BR liveries, in kit or factory built versions.

This is the latest Aster locomotive. It is made to be as prototypical as possible, including four working cylinders. Length 628mm, width 91mm, height 128mm, weight 5.38kg. The boiler is a C-type with 2 tubes and 2 syphon tubes. Superheater. Cab fittings include water sight glass, pressure gauge, reverser, regulator and blower. It has both a tender hand pump and an axle driven water pump. Fuel is alcohol. Minimum turn radius is 6 ft 6 in.
