Tugboat Harrisburg, with Car Float and
boxcar – This tugboat is gauge one and was produced by Fine Art
Models. The boat has a twin-cylinder vertical steam engine which is
alcohol- powered and comes with a complete remote control system. It
has an individually-wood- planked deck, pilot house and cabin;
navigation, tow, pilot house, and cabin lights; complete internal
pilot house detail; opening doors and windows; and real hemp bow and
side fenders on a fibreglass-reinforced resin hull. The bulkheads and
fittings are brass, and in addition to the cradle and electrified
display case, there is a removable keel for stability during
on-the-water operation. Included with the Harrisburg’s is a 100-foot carfloat which is also designed for on-the-water operation. It can accommodate up to four Gauge 1 freight cars on two tracks with a wood-planked loading dock between them. Like the tug, it has a fiberglass-reinforced resin hull and brass superstructure with all of the details, plus a canvas loading dock roof, hand-laid rails, removable wheel chocks, and a display case.
