Greetings railroad enthusiast,

Sunset Valley Railroad is a leading and innovative manufacturer of precision quality Gauge O and 1 track and related products.

The Sunset Valley Railroad Freedom Flex Track line includes aluminum, weathered-brass, weathered-nickel silver rail or stainless steel. We offer four styles of 12 inch long molded tie strips, twelve different sizes of turnouts, stamped rail joiners, rail clamps, rail height adapter joiners, track gauges, manual switch stands, and our own Curvemaker rail bender.

SVRR's wide variety of items, along with a comprehensive selection of "bits and pieces", allows you to mix and match components to fit your needs. Whether you're an R-T-R collector, a long time scratch builder, or someone in-between, we can supply products to satisfy anyone and everyone in the hobby. All popular brands of large-scale trains are compatible with SVRR products!

Our complete line is built around a standard six-foot long piece of Code 250 rail made of either cold drawn brass, nickel silver, stainless steel or extruded aluminum to insure dimensional stability by eliminating twists, and enhancing workability. Depending upon the scale that you operate in, 1/32, 1/29, 1/24, 1/22.5, 1/20, code 250 is a realistically sized engineering choice for your miniature railroad needs. It represents 130 lb., 100 lb., 90 lb., or 65 lb rail dependent upon the individual scale. All of these weights are within the realm of possibilities utilized for prototype construction. A sample pack containing brass and nickel silver rail, mainline, narrow gauge and switch tie samples and a catalog can be purchased for your review and examination for a low cost of $3.00.

All of our tie strips use staggered ties (so that the track doesn't look like it was laid with a giant straight edge) and the tie plates are molded to represent U.S. placement and practice. The spike heads, 4 per tie, are also molded in varying patterns (not lined up like little toy soldiers). Finally, the ties are held together by a single center spine ¼" wide by 1/8" high, each with a male and a female end making it a snap to join pieces. The advantage to this method is that it allows you a place to secure the track (in pre-molded locating holes) without driving screws through the tops of the ties and to provide a convenient reminder of the centerline of your track. When ballasted, the strip disappears.

Our tie strips are made from UV stabilized polypropylene and are dark brown in color.
